I managed to break my drivers side endlink in Colorado. They were able to overnight me a new part so that I could get off the trail and back home.
I purchased the sector shaft bracket for my 21 JT Mojave. It was an easy installed, bolted right on with no drilling, cutting or trimming. Followed the instructions and torque specs. Made a world of difference, virtually eliminating the dead steer and deflection in the steering. Well worth the investment. I would Highly Recommend this product.
I purchased the Yeti XD JL Sector shaft brace for my Rubicon as it has the steering issues that many Jeep JLs seem to have, hoping it would work as a band aid until Jeep resolves the steering gearbox issue. Jeep has already put in a new steel gear box, a new trackbar, and steering damper. Unfortunately, the Yeti did not correct, or even reduce the problem. I plan on leaving it installed though, as it provides additional strength to the steering and control system. Installation went fairly smooth, taking under 2 hours. Putting the track bar bolt in before the 4 steering box bolts is key...follow their instructions! The stock steering nut used a 1-11/16" socket and the SteerSmarts nut used a 1-5/8" socket, which delayed the install until I found both sockets (43 and 42mm will also work, but the SAE sizes fit perfect).
Customer service has been great in response to me receiving the wrong parts. I am awaiting the correct parts, thanks to their quick response to my email. I will give a further review once the correct parts arrive.
This thing is beefy and simple to install
Surprised how much different my Jeep steers after installing
If ya don’t have one get one
This was a very easy install on my 21 Gladiator 80th Ann. It took about two hours to install, I believe it would have been quicker with a better impact gun for the steering nut, that was the hardest part of the installation and torquing the new steering nut. the rest was very simple, I watch a few Youtube videos and read the instructions completely before starting. The steering box bolts need to be started by hand, all four of them, wiggle the box to get the bolts started, and then I used a small impact gun to tighten them up. For the track bar re-install, we had to wiggle the steering wheel to get the track bar bolt in. Once everything was started I tightened and torqued the bolts and nuts, and marked them with a paint pin. We did a test drive and you can definitely tell a difference in the steering. This is an outstanding product and it did as advertised!
I think you might consider making your Lifetime Warranty exceptions perfectly clear. I bought Steer Smarts tie Rod and drag link for my new 2018 Jeep JLUR. Much to my surprise my claim was rejected. Our club, FMCA 4 Wheelers is the largest Jeep club in America. We have about 450 families.
We share product experiences as well as product reliability.
Thanks for asking.
My customers expect the very best products for their Jeeps. The entire Steersmarts line not only delivers on that expectation, but exceeds it! In the years prior to Steersmarts coming to market, I've used several other types of steering "upgrades", but not one of them came close to Steersmarts bulletproof designs. So, if you're looking for the best possible steering upgrades for your rig, do what I do, look no further than Steersmarts!
Have now had opportunity to drive my JKU with steer smarts drag link and tie rod along with PCS Big bore. An amazing transformation for the better. Decided to not reinstall the steering stabilizer at this time because I'm so pleased with the results of this setup.
I purchased this on the recommendation of Steer Smarts when I was purchasing the aluminum tie rod and Griffin drag link. I have never had an issue with the steering and I have done some hard wheeling. It is a bit f a PITA to get installed but worth the effort!
Had this on the 21 JLUR EcoDiesel for a yea now and could not be happier. Easy installation and plenty beefy for some hard wheeling.
I have had this on my 21 JLUR EcoDiesel for almost a year and could not be happier. I do some hard wheeling so I wanted the flex and return of aluminum and this tie rod has not disappointed!
I purchased a Rancho rear adjustable track bar before these were available. I was never happy with the Rancho. In order to adjust it, you hade to remove the body side of the track bar and the adjustment is held in place with one nut that requires 150 lb-ft of torque! Nut always came loose and made a horrendous noise on the trail and at starts and stops. Installed the Steer Smarts in less than 30 minutes and everything is perfect. No noise and can adjust without removing one end and only needed 45 lb-ft of torque on the clamps! Best rear adjustable track bar out there!
I have had this on my Jeep for almost a year and been off roading all over the country including 11 Jeep BOH trails. Went in easy, improved the steering and have had no problems. If you set it up correctly the clamps do not catch on rocks and are still easy to adjust when the steering wheel needs tweaked after some rough wheeling. All in all VERY happy.
